Note di degustazione
The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino La Mannella sees fruit sourced from the northern side of the appellation where the winery headquarters are located. The wine is savory and rich, with dried fruit and earthy tones of underbrush and autumnal leaf. It offers lean consistency and moderate acidity (which is low on the Sangiovese scale). The warm vintage has crafted a wine that is better suited for near or medium-term consumption. Smoke, tobacco and crushed mineral add pretty contours to the finish.

Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Sweet and subdued on the nose. Brooding palate with slumbering fruit and plenty of acidity. Elegant palate weight, but powerfully structured fruit. Plenty of potential, though. Nebbiolo-like tannins for the moment. Long and complex. (WS)
