1998 Bolgheri Rosso

There are approximately 2,000 cases of the 1998 Macchiole Rosso, a wine aged in barrel prior to being bottled with neither fining nor filtering. Aromas of blackberry/cassis fruit intertwined with smoke and licorice jump from the glass of this fragrant wine. Intense and opulently-styled, with low acidity, medium to full body, and nicely-integrated toasty oak, this blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon will offer compelling drinking over the next 7-8 years.
