The 2020 Chablis Les Fôrets 1er Cru is matured entirely in tank. It has a menthol-oriented nose that obscures some of the terroir expression. The palate is quite powerful and rich, that menthol note coming through again and detracting from the freshness at the moment. The jury is out on this one.

The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Les Fôrets reveals pretty aromas of citrus oil, beeswax, white flowers and oyster shell. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and saline, it's fine-boned and delicate. I suspect it would have picked up more depth and texture had it seen a longer élevage.
