Note di degustazione
From a cool site that was picked on the last day of Boillot's harvest, the 2019 Volnay Les Grands Poisots has turned out especially well. Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cassis, rich soil tones, warm spices and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a penetrating finish.

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Perfumed tangy red fruits. Scented but also with a hint of citrus. More chewy than the Follin-Arbelet wines but still polished and rounded in the mouth. Rich fruit fills the mouth and yet it finishes with great freshness. Lovely, complete wine. (JH)
The 2019 Volnay Les Grands Poisots felt quite strict and, a little suppressed on the nose coming after the more open Beaune Epenotes. This takes some coaxing from the glass, and even then the aromatics remain tight. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy black fruit laced with tobacco and very light charcoal notes. Pommard-like in terms of structure on the finish. Fine.
