Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2025-2040, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2024

A deeper red hue, the 2020 Orma is a little slower to reveal its more layered depth, with aromas of black cherry, cocoa powder, pine sap, and crushed flowers. Full-bodied, with gripping structure and angular, snappy acidity, it has good tension and will do well to see more time in bottle. I really like this wine, but it has a touch of a tangy green tinge that some may find a touch assertive. Drink 2025-2040.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2024-2038, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Jul 2022

Showcasing the firm, savoury tannins and dried herbs that even Bordeaux blends can deliver from the heart of Bolgheri, this is packed with blackberry, liqourice, sage, fennel and smoked earth. Generous and moreish. Third year on the Place for a wine that is pulling back on the slightly overblown extraction that you can find in the past. Made by the Moretti Cuseri family, 7.5ha of vines located in the same corner of Tuscany as Sassicaia and Ornellaia but with considerably less clay in its soils than other coastal areas of Tuscany, majoring instead on sand and gravel.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Orma 2020 Orma is richly concentrated and midnight black in appearance. It presents considerable intensity in terms of its ink-like flavors of wild plum, blackberry confit, dark spice and cured tobacco. The wine wraps heavily over the palate, imparting lots of important textural richness along the way. You are best off serving a wine of this depth and magnitude with a classic T-bone cut bistecca alla fiorentina.
