Note di degustazione
Truffle, currants, violets, and spice define the 2010 Axelle De Valandraud, a tiny production release named after Jean-Luc’s daughter and based on 100% Merlot aged 20 months in new barrels. Only made in select vintages (it was last made in 2000), it’s even sexier and more seamless compared to the classic Château Valandraud release, with a style all its own. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it has ultra-fine tannins, no sensation of weight or heaviness, and a seamless, balanced profile. It might not live as long, but it's just a sensational unicorn of a wine. Drink 2025-2045.

Informazioni sul produttore

One of the first garage wines, Ch. Valandraud was created by Jean-Luc Thunevin – Saint-Emilion’s “bad boy”. Today the style of the wine is much more restrained, and officially classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate.
