The 2018 Meursault La Sève du Clos has turned out brilliantly, and its extraordinary old-vine concentration is the perfect foil for the inherently open, generous vintage. Wafting from the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh peach, beeswax, bread dough and crisp green orchard fruit, it's medium to full-bodied, multidimensional and incisive, its elegantly textural attack segueing into a deep, layered core, concluding with a bright, precise finish.

Deep minerally spice and great depth of fruit. A very very slight reduction that enhances the mineral character. ‘I want it to disappear at bottling’, says Ente. ‘It’s fleeting. Reduction must be discreet.’ Salty, smoky, mouth-watering and with a core of fruit that only old vines can deliver. Deep in fruit without being fruity. Dramatic intensity without being showy.
