Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2024-2034, Josh Raynolds, Mar 2021

Deep, brilliant ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes spice-accented blueberry, cherry incense and succulent flowers, along with hints of licorice and woodsmoke that build in the background. Alluringly sweet and penetrating on the palate, which offers concentrated boysenberry, cherry cola, candied violet and spicecake flavors underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Finishes extremely long, with impressive energy, mounting tannins and a sexy floral note.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2020-2030, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2020

The 2017 Priorat Cami Pesseroles checks in as a 60/40 split of Grenache and Carignan, fermented and aged in chestnut barrels and glass jars. Solid notes of red and black berry fruits, new leather, chocolate, and spiced meat flow to a rich, medium to full-bodied red with a wonderful texture, polished and perfectly ripe tannins, and a great finish. As with all of these 2017s from Mas Martinet, the texture, balance, and purity are terrific. Drink this beauty over the coming 8-10 years.

The 2017 Camí Pesseroles has better harmony and less rusticity and feels very Cariñena-esque. The wine matured in 650-liter chestnut barrels, going back to the traditions of the past, looking for the character of the old wines. 2017 is a gentler vintage, and the wine feels very relaxed, showing its true personality. A great change and a new profile of Camí Pesseroles. 2,200 bottles produced.
