Note di degustazione
Close to an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2021 Echo De Lynch-Bages is surprisingly tight and closed, with almost reductive notes of smoky black cherries, graphite, and scorched earth. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, foursquare mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are a bit aggressive, and this certainly might lack a touch of finesse, however, I do like the overall depth of fruit and its balance. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and I expect it will drink beautifully over the following decade.

The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is just a bit reticent on the nose and despite coaxing, it remains muted for the moment. The palate is more open and expressive with lithe tannins and a harmonious texture, fresh with licorice-tinged black fruit toward the finish.
The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a powerful, deep wine clearly marked by the year. In 2021, the Echo is quite a bit less fruity than is typical. There's also a touch less Cabernet Sauvignon in this year’s blend, but that is not evident given the wine’s personality.
