The 2019 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a linear and taut nose. It's minerally and complex with orange blossom and lime hints. There is a palpable sense of energy, but after ten minutes, that seems to ebb a little faster than I would have liked. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, tensile, and plenty of energy. Yes, the alcohol does feel a little high (felt at the back of the throat), but there is satisfying breeding toward the finish. Very fine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Bottled in May 2021, the 2019 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with white peach, honeysuckle and just a very slight touch of baked bread. The palate is well balanced with a slightly creamy opening, fine acidity, with hints of almond and white chocolate towards the finish. Quite generous, though I am just seeking a little more tension. Closure: Diam 30
(Sweet Spot Outstanding)<br /> An exuberantly fresh nose freely offers up its aromas of spicy white and yellow fruit and in particular peach and apricot along with a wisp of acacia. There is excellent intensity to the caressing and well-detailed flavors that exude evident minerality on the clean, dry and balanced finale. This isn't as complex as the best in the range, at least not at present though that of course may well change in time.
