The 2020 Saint-Aubin Clos de Meix 1er Cru has a livewire bouquet with wonderful definition and energy - linear, the chalky terroir coming through with aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, a judicious touch of sour lemon commingling with bruised apple and pear, lemongrass enlivening the persistent finish. Excellent.

The 2020 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Meix wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, orange zest, crisp green apple, freshly baked bread, white flowers and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's unusually fleshy for this site, located below Derrière Chez Edouard, but it retains good cut and chalky grip.
