The fruit for Boillot’s village Meursault is almost entirely from their own vineyards – an almost domaine bottling. The nose shows a hint of appealing gunflint, while beneath lies a weight of gorgeous fruit – ripe lemon citrus and peach, but with a zesty edge. There’s real energy on the palate, vibrant yet linear. It’s long and pithy with delicate honeysuckle notes playing on the finish.

Mostly made from their own grapes from Luraules, Petit Charrons, Pelles Dessus along with grapes they harvest from En La Barre and Clos du Cromin. The new wood level has been reduced to 15-20%. More lemon than lime in colour, quite a plump nose though fruit detail awaits. Builds very nicely on the palate, some ripe greengage notes, very good fresh finish with a balance between the flesh and the acidity. Recognisably Meursault.

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
