Note di degustazione
Charles Heidsieck’s 2008 Rosé lifts out of the glass with a pronounced and detailed medley of wild strawberries, blood orange, firm peaches and redcurrants – a wonderfully harmonious summer fruit salad with a dash of mint and chalk to awaken those taste buds ready for the first sip. The mouthfeel is silky and luxurious, but contained by the very driven acidity and dry, mineral energy on the palate. With air, the richness builds with aromas of ripe fig and a touch of salted liquorice, but maintaining that nervous, tight energy and fresh composure into its long finish. Delicious.

Onion skin with coppery glints, welcoming a fine cordon of bubbles, small and persistent. The nose is deliciously serious, marrying red and white fruits, cherry and Mirabelle plums prominent among them, then, traversing the seasons, summer fruits and flowers. Only 9% of red wine has been added; judged to perfection as it lends structure without in any way forsaking an immediate appeal. The result is gastronomic and cerebral, yet also sunny and generous of disposition. Chef de cave Cyril Brun advises that this is a keeper, which will continue to challenge and seduce in equal measure over the next decade and more. Excellent. Disgorged Spring 2020. Dosage 7g/L.
