Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Black core with purplish rim. Peppery dark fruit and perhaps a hint of smoky reduction. Smells pretty oaky. Tastes pretty oaky, too, but the tannins are fine grained and it’s fresh on the finish. Straightforward Pauillac. (JH)

The 2020 Pédesclaux is straightforward and neatly delineated on the nose, displaying mainly black fruit mixed with potpourri and cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannins, fine depth and notable cohesion. A judicious touch of spice lingers on the peppery finish. Maybe it lacks a bit of sophistication at the moment, but I enjoy the capsicum-tinged close. It should repay three or four more years in the cellar. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Aromas of dark berries, loamy soil and pencil shavings preface the 2020 Pedésclaux, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent wine that's let down by somewhat austere, drying tannins that assert themselves on the finish. Perhaps time will be kind to it?
