One of the richer, fleshier whites in the range is the 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Le Porusot, which bursts with aromas of orange oil, white flowers, almonds and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, with an ample core of fruit but good strutting grip to balance it, this will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2019 Meursault Porusot 1er Cru has a more subtle bouquet than the La Pièce Sous Bois, featuring honeysuckle and jasmine scents and hints of hazelnut and lychee. The palate is well balanced with a generous, slightly waxy-textured opening. Good depth and grip here, with dried honey and ginger plus lemon thyme toward the finish. Excellent.
Planted in the 1930s. Very small berries. Three barrels made when there are usually 4.5. Tank sample. Light and clean on the nose. Very tight and focused. Tense high-wire wine. Lots of acidity but fruit density too. Exceptional finish. (JR)
