Note di degustazione
The 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru sports a very slight reduction on the nose, though it remains fresh and delineated. Perhaps the oak is a little too evident at this stage. That will need to be absorbed in the next two or three years. The palate is well-balanced and has more complexity than the nose. Orange peel mixes with quince and crushed stone. There's impressive precision toward the finish, with chamomile suggested on the aftertaste. Though its components still need to meld fully, this Meursault has immense potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

A rich and generous Meursault with plenty of ripe-apricot and melon character, which is very neatly underlined by the vanilla oak. Full body with quite some creaminess, then comes the long finish with excellent mineral freshness. Everything fits extremely neatly! Drink or hold.
Offering up notes of pear, white flowers, toasted almonds and beeswax, Bouchard's 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, with a more tightly wound, introverted profile than the Charmes that preceded it. Built to age, this is a serious Genevrières that I look forward to tasting from bottle.
