Aromas of pear, toasted bread and citrus zest introduce the 2018 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde, a medium-bodied, bright and open wine that's pure and precise, concluding with a chalky finish. This has turned out very well.

From Cormot, 8 km (5 miles) from Chassagne, a cool site at 400 m (1,300 ft), sloping and west facing (also from St-Aubin and Pernand). Calcareous with a little bit of clay – more clay than in St-Romain. 2 ha (5 acres) bought in 2014, and 2018 was the first year they kept all the fruit – it took four years to get the vines as they wanted them. In tank since August and will be bottled in December. Chalky, stony nose. A touch of oak spice on the nose but seriously stony citrus. Impressive intensity and his hallmark precision.
