2017 Chianti Classico

Slice up some portobello mushroom for the grill and crack out this Il Cellese 2017 Chianti Classico. The wine shows earthy tones, bright cherries, red currants and candied violets. This is a pretty, almost fragile wine that exhibits a smooth and silky side to this hot and dry vintage. The wine is nicely executed with the open, accessible fruit tones that I often associate with the large horizons of Castellina in Chianti.
