Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2020-2035, Jancis Robinson MW, Jun 2020

65% Garnacha, 25% Carinyena, 10% Syrah. 40- to 80-year-old vines (yielding 600 g/plant). All vineyards on costers (slopes). 14 months in barrel. 50% new and 50% used oak. This is a wine of contrast; it is very concentrated and stylish at the same time. Black fruit, spices, very deep on the nose. Great flavour intensity, superb concentration, freshness and depth. I see a pretty dynamic wine in the glass. Lots of layers of fruit with Mediterranean herbs and a touch of noble oak. A full and pleasant wine with details of greatness and exceptional tension. Beautifully done! (FC)

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2019-2027, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Aug 2019

I tasted two vintages of the Salanques, and the 2017 Salanques feels riper and darker than the 2016, with notes of graphite and earth. It was one of the earliest harvests ever, but the old vines (this comes from plants averaging no less than 70 years of age) still managed to deliver a balanced crop. It's powerful but has very fine tannins, a velvety texture and a very pleasant mouthfeel. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2019.
