Note di degustazione
The 2018 Meursault En la Barre mingles aromas of white flowers, toasted almonds, fresh bread and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's fleshier and rounder than Jobard's regular Meursault, with an open-knit profile and succulent acids, displaying a touch less tension.

Tank sample. A touch of smoky reduction at first. The fruit more obvious on the palate thought it is just slightly hard/bitter on the finish. (JH)
The 2018 Meursault En La Barre comes from a 1.3-hectare parcel. It has a complex bouquet of orange peel, Granny Smith apples, wet limestone and just a hint of Thai fish oil in the background, indicating the concentration of the growing season. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, a hint of sour lemon lending tension, and good weight and intensity on the finish. Impressive focus here. A Meursault that should age with style.
Quite a rich start and then racy and lively. Flowers and fun but only medium term. Still quite jagged on the palate. Crisp. (JR)
