2016 Morellino di Scansano Capatosta

From an organic vineyard some 350 meters in altitude inland from the coast, the 2016 Capatosta is 100% Sangiovese in this vintage, showing a big plumpness of fruit and ripe notes of cherry. It does a year in tonneaux, yielding only subtle spice spread out over a mid-weight feel. This is an easygoing and cheerful red that's ready for a simple penne all'arrabbiata.
