Note di degustazione
One of Leroux's finest whites this year is the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières-Dessus, a more reserved, tensile wine than the Genevrières-Dessous. Opening in the glass with a gently reductive bouquet of green pear, white flowers, citrus zest and wheat toast, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, with chalky structuring extract and a penetrating, mineral finish.

Magnum only. Higher up and and more calcareous than the Genevrières Dessous. 2.5 barrels and one new. Not yet racked. Deliberately more reductive to give a wine that will age longer. Barrel sample. Smoky struck match but not overly so. Compact and rich in fruit and packed with spice but the oak is all tangled in with the fruit. Rich, deep and long. Powerful, smoky and fresh. (JH)
