Magnum of a wine judged by Walter in May 2025 to be at peak from bottle. To be served at our Italian-themed first Christmas lunch en famille. Transparent shaded ruby. Fully evolved nose with balsam and dried sour cherries – reminiscent of Tuscan warmth but with admirable freshness. Should go well with turkey and all the trimmings. (JR)

Poured from magnum. Maturing and just mid ruby. Savoury-sweet spice notes over concentrated cherry fruit and with a peppery tingle on the nose. Elegant and juicy with nutty tones on the palate. Light of touch and ends almost a little mouth-watering. Fine coating tannins on the finish. Now at its peak. (WS)
Deeper crimson than either the 2012 or 2013. Sweet and ripe. Lifted, flattering fruit with a suitably dry, obviously Sangiovese finish. This is holding up very well (in contrast to the 2012 and 2013)! Juicy and pretty. (JR)
Heady, high-toned nose with lots of rich, floral layers and more lift than the 2012. Quite racy as well as concentrated. Almost transparent with fine tannins. Great freshness and persistence with richness. (JR)
