Note di degustazione
(Latour made just a single one-year-old barrel of this juice): Pure aromas of lemon, pineapple and crushed stone went into a shell in the glass. Extremely dry and unforthcoming, coming across as narrower and tighter today than the Genevrières. An uncompromising mouthful of rocks and pineapple, with penetrating minerality. Finishes tactile, saline and slightly phenolic, lingering impressively on the palate without really expanding. This extremely backward wine will need patience.

(just a single 2013 barrel of this juice; 13.5% natural alcohol with 4.8 g/l acidity): Bright, pale yellow with green highlights. Deep, soil-driven aromas of fresh apricot, underripe pineapple, menthol, white pepper and crushed stone. Thick, dense and opulent; not as refined today as the Genevrières but conveys a powerful impression of saline minerality and underlying structure. Finishes very chewy and adamantly dry. This somewhat extreme style is best suited for rock hounds, myself included. The yield here was just 15 hectoliters per hectare, according to Latour.
