Barrel sample. Vines 50 years old. Lots of spice here and a combination of ripe red fruits and crushed stones. Sweet cherry that smells succulent and juicy. On the palate, very tight, very mineral, lots of stemmy character and a long dry chalky finish. All to come. Firm, dry finesse and that slightly stalky bitterness that will come good, Duband assures me. Structured and really dry but not drying. (JH)
