Note di degustazione
The 2014 Saint-Aubin Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 1er Cru, poured from magnum, has a more expressive nose than the 2014 from Marc Colin, with lemon curd and hints of green olive and beeswax. This is complex and more phenolic than expected. The palate is well balanced, with beguiling umami and ample weight. It has a soft landing on the finish, where perhaps I am just seeking the tension that this vintage could bestow white Burgundy. Tasted and The Fine Wine Experience's La Paulée dinner at 1243 Club in Beaune.

(a very small crop from degenerating old vines): Pale yellow. Musky apple, smoke and a whiff of iodine on the nose. Very rich, broad and classically dry, with orchard fruit and spice flavors framed and energized by harmonious acidity. Has the dry extract to support its slightly tannic impression and really resounds on the back end. Plenty of dimension here, but this wine will need time to fill in.
