Note di degustazione
The 2001 Celler Vall Llach Priorat Embruix is the estate’s second wine and is an outstanding value year in and year out. Drinking well, but certainly showing signs of maturity, it delivers loads of sweet red and black fruits, underbrush, and cedar driven aromatics, a medium-bodied, supple mouth feel, and juicy, borderline racy acidity on the finish. Given the mid-palate concentration and length on the finish, this isn’t going to fall off a cliff, but bottles should be lined up for consuming over the coming year or two.

Sumptuous, complex, and drinking beautifully at present is the 2001 Embruix, a blend of 50% Grenache, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and tiny quantities of Merlot, Syrah, and Carignan. It displays a deep ruby/purple color along with glorious aromas of smoke, scorched earth, sweet raspberry and black currant fruit, a rich, intense palate, tremendous purity, and silky tannin. It tastes like a Pomerol from Priorat. Enjoy it over the next 10-12 years. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767
