Serralunga d’Alba. Tasted blind. Maturing ruby with narrow orange rim. Savoury, with a hint of leather and with brooding ripe fruit underneath and with hints of incense. Wonderful gripping, grainy tannins while the acidity only turns up on the finish, and then clings to the sweet fruit. Hedonistic and with a powerful structure. (WS)
