A striking wine, the 2012 Lemartine jumps from the glass with cassis, graphite violets, lavender, sweet spices and French oak. The 2012 boasts superb purity in its fruit and expressive aromatics, all supported by fabulous underlying structure. I very much like the sense of energy and power here. Lemartine is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. In 2012, everything just works.
