Note di degustazione
The 2017 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru is taut and crisp on the nose, nicely focused and poised, with well integrated oak; the aromatics feel harmonious and complex. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, and very citric in style. Plenty of ginger and lemongrass furnish the finish with admirable length. Excellent and very elegant. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

Notes of pear, white flowers, green apple, nutmeg and spices preface the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy wine that's neither as ample and fleshy as the Bouchères nor as structured and tensile as the Charmes.
The 2017 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is a step up from the village cru , as you would expect. Hazelnut, smoke and light orange blossom scents gradually unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and well-judged acidity. This is not a powerful Meursault, nor particularly complex, yet it is disarmingly pretty and shows impressive persistence. Perhaps there is more to come later.
