2016 St Aubin Blanc Murgers des Dents de Chien

The 2016 St Aubin 1er Cru les Murgers des Dents de Chien was showing more reduction on the nose compared to its fellow premier crus. The palate is open for business, adorned with cooking apple and fresh pear notes, moderate weight in the mouth, though I was just seeking a tad more tension on the finish compared to the previous two vintages and indeed, the 2015 Clos de la Chatenniere.

(25% of the potential crop was lost to frost): Bright lemon-yellow. Lemon and lime plus some metallic minerality on the slightly rustic nose. Ripe, fat and rich but fresh in the mouth, with generous yellow fruit flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. Finishes ripe and long, with lovely sappy lemon and orange notes. These vines are affected by court-noué (fanleaf virus).
