Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is poised and fresh, with gunflint, smoke and light green apple notes mixed with orange blossom on the elegant, focused nose. The palate is well balanced, quite powerful and dense, not unlike a Les Clos in some ways. Finely balanced toward the finish; though this is not as tensile as some of its peers, it does provide sufficient bitterness to tempt you back for another sip. Maybe a bit of a dark horse? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

The 2017 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is gorgeous; it is creamy, ample and open-knit, yet wonderfully light on its feet. Dried flowers, mint, hazelnut, spice and peach come together in a wine that, despite its substantial palate weight, is also very fresh. This is a remarkable wine that shows the richness of the site alongside the freshness of the vintage. The 2017 is just a stunning, inviting wine.
Like the domaine's Vaillons, the 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir was one of the first to be harvested, and while the resulting wine captures all the fragrant exuberance of the site, bursting with notes of orange rind, peach and lilac, it's quite tensile and tight-knit on the palate, with tangy acids and a mouthwatering finish. It will require a little patience, but it's promising.
