2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera

This was a hot vintage with dry winds blowing throughout the summer season. However, the Masi the 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera is quite clean and buttoned up. Its aromas span a large breadth of dark fruits, tar, smoke, spice and dried plum. The wine feels totally dry to the palate, and there is a bit more firmness or tightness in terms of the tannins. It has also been softened by bottle age.
