Note di degustazione
The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is stunning. It continues to mature beautifully, showing off a blend of cherry and plum sauce lifted by cedar shavings and flowery undergrowth. This soothes with its silky textures and ripe wild berry fruit tones, as brisk acidity and saline minerals saturate the palate, adding traction toward the close. The 2013 shows a bit of its maturity, as spiced citrus, inner earth tones and hints of tobacco linger along with silty tannins. Nonetheless, it retains a freshness that promises many years of positive evolution.

Here's a Brunello that will surely see a solid ten-year evolution. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino offers excellent balance and carefully delivered power. Both characteristics help to fuel the wine's smooth momentum over the palate. Dark fruit, plum and dried blackberry appear on the bouquet. Those fruity tones are followed by spice, leather and grilled herb. Some 90,000 bottles were produced.
Light autumnal nose. Fine, refined tannins. Fresh and lively if not especially complex. (JR)
Maturing mid ruby with bright bricky tinges. Soft fruit, spice and iron. Supple and with plenty of acidity creeping up on the finish and lots of powdery tannins. Lovely depth and freshness. (WS) (JR)
