Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2022-2030, Alistair Cooper MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2019

Intense nose of bitter dark chocolate, black cherries, smoke and liquorice. This has lovely energy on the palate with juicy dark fruit and firmly tuned tannins. Not a monstrous Priorat by any means but a refined elegant style. Impressive stuff. (AC)

The amazing 2015 Planetes de Nin is a young-vine blend of Garnacha and Cariñena that fermented in 3,200-liter French oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a 3,000-liter oak vat for some 18 months. It starts as a closed and serious red, with great detail, poise and elegance, incredibly fresh for the conditions of the year, challenging the 2014 with freshness. It's fresh and mineral, elegant and perfumed, floral and nicely balanced on the palate. This has to be the finest Planetes to date. Bravo! 9,070 bottles were filled in April 2017.

The wine is sourced from sloped vineyards of Garnatxa (Grenache) and Carinyena (Carignan), from relatively young vines. Long fermentation and maceration in large oak casks (four weeks' skin contact). 18 months' ageing in large foudres. The wine has a ripe aspect showing plums, juicy dark berries, cloves and an enchanting earthiness. The palate is really delicate, tannins are present but refined, and it leaves a very rounded impression. It is a subtle and charming wine, with a very good texture. (FC)
