Tasted blind. Pale gold. Baking spices and sweet pastries on the nose. Sweet and sticky and a hint of warmth of the palate. It lacks the drive and mid-palate fruit of the best wines in this vintage, but does have admirable flesh. (TP)

The 2017 Doisy-Védrines is exquisitely beautiful, a wine of great structure. Apricot, honey, mint, tangerine and biscuit notes all grace this mid-weight, understated Sauternes. Doisy-Védrines can age for decades, but I prefer it on the younger side.
The 2017 Doisy-Vedrines is redolent of musk perfume, beeswax and lemon marmalade with lime cordial and floral wafts in the background. Rich and fantastically intense, the palate packs in the citrus and savory layers with a crisp backbone to balance and a long, lifted finish. I love the purity and energy of this wine!
80% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Muscadelle . Lively, fresh but without that much undertow. Tarte Tatin juice? Good for fairly early drinking. (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

Owned by the Castéja family (of Ch. Batailley) since 1946, Ch. Doisy-Védrines produces a particularly rich and full-bodied style of wine, with around 80% of the vines Semillon. Although located in Barsac, the wines are bottled under the Sauternes appellation.
