The 2016 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru sees 15 to 18 months in stainless steel. It has a vivid bouquet with fresh lime, green apple and flint aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with admirable precision and mineral drive on the finish. This is a very well crafted Vaudésir. Notes of green apple, dried white flowers and subtle reduction introduce the 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated wine with good depth and promising structural tension. It has the energy and balance to develop well in the cellar. This is one of the highlights of the range in 2016.
Tank sample. Smells a little creamier than the Valmur. And it is both richer in fruit and more crisp. More obvious than the Valmur, more power and possibly greater longevity but I prefer the finesse of the Valmur. (JH)
Discreet nose. Masses of substance and acidity. Not nearly ready but finely etched. Encouragingly persistent. (JR)
