The 2016 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru has a perfumed bouquet with orange blossom, light honeysuckle, delineated and very focused aromas. The palate is extremely well balanced with a fine line of acidity, very intense and full of tension (commendable for a warm vintage) although it just misses the sustained aftertaste on the finish.

The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir was showing well, exhibiting attractive aromas of mandarin, Meyer lemon and baking spice. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and satiny, with good concentration and delicate structure, underpinned by juicy acids. It's a precocious Vaudésir, but it represents a success in a challenging vintage.
(100% fermented in barrels; just six barrels made from 0.5 hectare, or 18 hectoliters per hectare): Medium yellow. Very ripe but reticent aromas of soft citrus fruits, yellow peach and hazelnut. Sweeter and more glyceral than the Blanchots (this wine fermented until the end of January) but also more refined in texture. Yellow stone fruits dominate, with the oak element contributing a captivating sweetness. This rather voluptuous grand cru nonetheless shows good tension and structure; it will need time in bottle to harmonize.
