The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre had a very primal, grass clipping/malic bouquet that felt a little pinched. The palate is crisp and fresh with a light sea influence—hints of oyster shell toward the finish that somewhat belatedly offers a sense of energy. Drink within four or five years.
