Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2022-2038, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

The 2014 Beaune Village will demand several years' patience, but it's a very promising young wine, unfurling to reveal aromas of wild berries, dried flowers and sweet loamy soil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a firm chassis of fine-grained structuring tannins, juicy acids and a youthfully chewy finish. Like many 2014 Côte de Beaune reds, it's rather firm and compact, but it has the substance to come around nicely with bottle age. Note that Gaunoux's Beaune cuvée is a blend of premiers crus Boucherottes and Epenottes with the lieux-dits Prevolles and Beaux Fougets, so the raw materials are serious.
