FINE+RARE Tasting Note

Clean and fresh on the nose with citrus to the fore then hints of butter and butterscotch coming through. Beautifully weighted on the palate, rich and powerful as expected of this Grand Cru but with freshness and elegance this give superb balance. Has the concentration and structure to age superbly. Excellent.

Soil-driven aromas of anise, menthol and crushed rock, plus an element of musky nutty oak. Then seriously rich and densely packed but also juicy and penetrating on the palate; tighter and less sweet than the Bâtard and dominated by its structure today. Finishes quite backward, with crushed rock and saline mineral flavors and a somewhat tannic impression. Remoissenet had no fewer than five sources of Corton-Charlemagne in 2015.

The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet with citrus lemon, Braeburn apples and nectarine aromas, hints of lanolin in the background. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity that counters the viscous texture, moderate length with a touch of spice on the finish.
