(on its finings): More apple than peach on the nose, lifted by a citrus note and a hint of ginger. Silky and densely packed; more powerful than the preceding examples but displaying noteworthy energy for the vintage. Finishes firm, spicy and long, with an element of orange oil and an almost tannic phenolic quality. These vines were planted in 1991.

Cask sample. Clay of Porusot and the poor soils of Bouchères at the same time. Only just completed malo! (Now, if a wine doesn’t finish MLF by May, they put them all in stainless steel to retain fruit.) Quite solid. Great stuff! Exciting tension and structure. Lots of freshness. Long. (JR)
(I tasted this wine from a new barrel, as it was the only one that had finished its malolactic fermentation): High-pitched brown spices dominate the nose and palate. Juicy and savory, with ripe acidity accentuating the wine's impression of sappiness. Finishes with a slightly dusty tannic impression. Not yet showing its fruit.
Dominique Lafon poured his 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or, however, it was clearly far too primal and reduced for me to make any evaluation. So I will seek to re-examine this once it is more evolved. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
