Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2019-2025, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2017

Light, bright yellow. Brisk aromas of lemon, lime, ginger and crushed stone. Juicy, sappy wine with citrus and spice flavors framed by underlying minerality and well-judged oak. Finishes firm, fresh and persistent, with subtle citrus lift and good energy for the year. Technical director Jérôme Flous told me last year that this wine had 4.4 g/l acidity, and no doubt this high-elevation, stony site was favored in 2015. Balanced from the start but has the energy and salinity to gain in texture and nuance in bottle.

(13.2% alcohol): Pale, green-tinged color. Lively musky aromas of lime, apple, crushed rock and white flowers. Nicely rich and opulent but also juicy, brisk and vibrant, showing good minerality and acid retention (4.4 g/l today) for 2015, along with a sexy touch of oak. This wine needs considerably more élevage , says Flous, who noted that it may not be bottled until April of 2017.
