The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots has a gorgeous bouquet, almost Volnay-like in terms of precocity with layers of red cherries, wild strawberry and iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry, gently gripping the mouth with marine-tinged red fruit and firm tannins on the end that will ensure this matures over many years. What a great Pommard from Domaine Pierre Morey.
