Tasted not long before bottling. Dark crimson. Very intense almost claret-like aroma. Unusually intense and pretty uncompromising. Almost sour on the end. Lots of tannins. Certainly fresh enough and with good acidity but pretty brutal at the moment. Definitely made for the long term. Red-fruit cocktail. (JR)

Bright medium ruby. A bit less unrelievedly black on the nose than the foregoing samples, but still dominated by kirsch , bitter chocolate and violet. Juicier and tighter than the Pommard 1er Cru that preceded it in my tasting, showing a minty aspect and less stuffing. This rather lean village wine finishes with slightly drying tannins and is tough going today.
