What a pleasure it is to taste the 2010 Lupicaia. Fresh and brilliant on the palate, the 2010 boasts superb energy and precision throughout. Rose petal, mint and succulent red-fleshed fruit are all beautifully delineated. The flavors remain quite youthful and vibrant, with little in the way of aromatic nuance. Readers will have to be patient, but there is little doubt the 2010 is a stellar wine with considerable potential. With time in the glass, the 2010 becomes richer, darker and more powerful, hinting at what lies ahead.

The 2010 Lupicaia is an absolute stunner. I love the 2009 edition and am equally enthusiastic about 2010. True to form, the wine offers a beautifully distinctive bouquet with dark fruit, blackberry, balsam herb, cola, eucalyptus leave, exotic spice and tobacco. This is one of Italy's iconic red wines and is made from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. The mouthfeel is structured and elegant, but it also offers that special sense of sharpness and focus that ensures a long aging potential. This beautiful expression is only at the beginning of its evolution. Sep 2015, www.robertparker.com
