Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or has a slight reduction on the nose -- broody compared to the Goutte d'Or from Coche-Bizouard tasted alongside, yet still well defined and with the new oak neatly folded into the fruit. The palate is balanced but not as complex or nuanced as I was anticipating, delivering a short and slightly sour note on the finish. Perhaps this is not quite up to Ente's usual high standards but perhaps it will improve in bottle. Tasted May 2016.

Bright yellow. Riper and gentler on the nose than the bracing Petits Charrons, offering fruit-driven aromas of white peach, lemon and lime. Dense and sweet in the mouth, in a distinctly fruity style but with good salty minerality contributing to an impression of concentration. The salty quality gives the finish a chewy character. This is the highest in alcohol of these 2013s at 12.9% and also represents the highest yield, at 27 hectoliters per hectare.
