Note di degustazione
An IGT Toscana blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Alicante, the 2010 Caiarossa is a tremendous wine. The bouquet is rich and compelling with deep layers of dark fruit, spice and chocolate. Given the complexity of the blend, it's hard to identify any single variety although the softness of Merlot and the structure of the two Cabernet grapes definitely comes through in the mouth.

Blend of biodynamically farmed 26% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 12% Sangiovese, 4%Petit Verdot, 1% Alicante. Late budburst and rain at flowering resulted in a smaller than usual crop. Late growing season throughout. Mid crimson; not especially intense colour. Some slight rawness on the nose. Then sweet ripeness. Not yet fully integrated. Tannins still a little jagged. Sweet and sour. Well intentioned but far from harmonious at the moment. (JR)
Lifted sweet red and dark fruit and oak. Lots of concentration but well balanced by acidity and grainy tannins and just a touch of oak on the finish. Juicy and really appetising. (WS)
Grilled herbs, smoke, tobacco, licorice and red stone fruits blossom in the 2010 Caiarossa. Darker, meatier notes appear later, adding depth and intensity. There is good volume and resonance in the glass, both backed up by vivid acidity and terrific underlying structure.
