(made from 12 parcels, with about half of the total acreage influenced by the cool Combe Lavaux): Deep, dark red. Aromas of black raspberry, smoky minerality and underbrush are lifted by a violet topnote. Juicy, rocky and serious, showing a distinctly saline character and a whiff of game to its dark fruit flavors. Boasts good tension and structure for village wine. "This wine always needs five years," notes Emmanuel Humbert.
