The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots has a fragrant bouquet that retains those grilled walnut scents that I picked up on from barrel, though now they are augmented with hints of smoke and even baking powder. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with crisp acidity, touches of crème fraiche, dried pineapple and citrus lemon, moderate weight on the finish but, it lingers nicely in the mouth. Enjoy this over the next 10-15 years.
Mid intensity nose. Sweet start and floral, rich and fresh. Good vibrancy. Some breadth and piercing. (JR)
